Where does time go? I can't believe we're already approaching JULY! That means, July 4th celebrations are right around the corner, then comes Labor Day, Thanksgiving, then CHRISTMAS! Do you know that I was in Hobby Lobby the other day and they already have Christmas decorations out?! Never mind that I was wiping the sweat off my brow, I was thinking who would buy this now? I love Christmas, but really...it's a bit early. As we were walking down the aisles showing Noah what Christmas looks like, I got really excited. This is the year of many first's with Noah and we're just so thrilled to celebrate every holiday. Each one brings new meaning to us now.
One thing I love most about the holidays is the yummy FOOD! Right? I'm not the only one...who gives a rip about the calories, it's a time to celebrate so I have no shame enjoying desserts! :) I'm thinking about trying to make a delicious dessert for July 4th. So, I headed over to the mother load of crafty sites - MarthaStewart.com - only to find a plethora of options to choose from. The first thing I laid my eyes on made my mouth water. Doesn't this star-spangled shortcake look scumptious?! I'm thinking I might tackle this recipe. Honestly, I'm a cook-out-of-the-box kinda girl. So, creating these cute stars from flour & baking soda is a bit scary. I know it can't be hard, but I have a fear it will be a disaster in the end! I suppose I won't know unless I try, right?! If you have any helpful baking tips, bring it on. Or if you have a yummy dessert you love to make for the holidays, tell me...I may take on the challenge! I'm trying to stretch myself...I just need a little hand holding along the way. :)
Well, enjoy the summer months...as they're flying by way to fast. Noah is starting to bang on the computer keys, so I should end this now before he deletes this entire post. Gotta love those grabby hands!
Happy July 4th BSD pals!!
